Frome library is to remain closed for longer than scheduled as it undergoes what has been called decarbonisation work.

The library in central Frome which also operates as a help centre for residents needing support, closed at the end of January and was due to reopen shortly.

However today ( March 9) library users were warned that due to supply issues it will not re open until April.

The letter states :

We previously wrote to you to let you know that Somerset Libraries have been fortunate to receive government funding to undertake some decarbonisation work at Frome Library and that this means that the library has had to close to the public. Unfortunately, due to supply chain issues beyond our control, we will not be able to reopen the library until Monday 4th April. This is approximately 3 weeks later than originally planned. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. You can return books to any other Somerset library and at the Frome market day pop up library. You can renew your books via your library account at www.librarieswest.org
