Mendip Markets, run by Somerset Council, took part in the national 'Love Your Local Market' (LYLM) campaign which celebrates traditional markets and its dedicated traders.

Markets in Frome, Glastonbury, Shepton Mallet, Street, and Wells proudly displayed a LYLM banner.

Photos of the moment can be seen on social media and captures the communities at the heart of these thriving spaces.

LYLM is organised by the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) and this year's campaign ran from 17 May – 1 June 2024 which was supported by 100s of markets across the country.

Markets are vital to Somerset communities, they directly support local entrepreneurs, generate jobs and create vibrant atmospheres in high streets, attracting visitors that contribute to the local economy.

Mendip Markets operates seven weekly markets throughout the year every Tuesday to Saturday, with over 160 regular traders providing high quality, local products from farm-fresh fruits and vegetables to unique artisanal crafts.

Visit Mendip Markets on social media to see the LYLM banner at each market and meet the traders who operate there:
