A patient has been in touch with Frome Nub News saying that they are having issues getting access to the town Medical Practice, now that there is a new system for getting appointments. The practice even now has iPads in the reception area, which patients can use to complete a new online request form for appointments which came into use on September 21.

However one patient told Nub News that they still cannot get into the system or check on results in spite of being what they describe as up to date with technology.

They also said the phone queue to the practice was never shorter than 30 callers waiting.

Adding : " You cannot email as it won't be returned you can't get test test results if they do not appear on the NHS app and you cannot contact through the app. Their form for an appointment request is almost impossible to decipher.

" I'm sure that many elderly patients are struggling and being caused unnecessary stress by the situation. "

"If you are trying to access test results you can do this directly through the website if you cannot access via the NHS app. Please select Tests and Results rather than appointments. When you calling and are given options please press 5 to speak to one of our care coordinators for test results

" If you are experiencing a long call wait please press the call back function. You will retain your place in the queue and we will call you back as soon as we are able. Please be aware Mondays are always our busiest day

"If you need support with completing the online form we have a dedicated team to help you with this. Please check our website or ask at the information desk for support times and one of our dedicated digital team will be happy to help you. "

The unhappy patient did add that the new forms which are being used in the change at Frome Medical Practice are very user friendly.
