A team from Frome Medical Practice recently attended the South West General Practice Nursing Awards Final, after two colleagues were shortlisted for these regional awards. Julie Cox was shortlisted in the Unsung Hero category and Claire Smart was shortlisted for the Patient Care Award. Claire and Julie were joined at the Award ceremony by Senior Partner at the practice, Dr Helen Kingston and Nurse Practitioner, Clare Harvey.

At the Award ceremony Claire received a Runners Up Highly Commended Award for her work in establishing a Primary Care Network Diagnostic Centre, which has improved care provided to patients.

Practice Manager, Karen Creffield, said, "The South West General Practice Nursing Awards are organised by our colleagues at NHS England South West. They celebrate the excellence of nurses working in general practice and the important role they have in supporting the health of our population.

"These are prestigious awards and to have two members of the team from the practice through to the finals is fantastic. Congratulations to both Claire and Julie on this achievement. It's also testament to our team overall that we consistently reach the finals of these Awards, with members of our nursing and support teams being shortlisted and winning in previous years."
