Frome Medical Practice will be starting its annual flu vaccination programme in mid-September and is inviting patients aged 65 and over to get in touch to book their appointments now. Patients with a mobile phone number registered with the practice will be contacted by text message with a link to book their appointments. Patients who are unable to book in this way are asked to call the practice via the special flu line on 01373 301300 after 2pm to make their appointment.

In the first instance, the practice is offering clinics for the over 65s on Saturday 16th and Saturday 23rd September.

Senior Partner at the practice, Dr Helen Kingston, said, "We offer the flu vaccine every year to help protect people from getting seriously ill from the flu. We offer our clinics from mid September, as being vaccinated before the flu season starts is the best time to do this. I would encourage our patients aged 65 and over to book their appointments as soon as they can."

The practice will also be offering flu vaccinations to patients who are under 65 and have a long term health condition, as well as to pregnant women and children. If you are in one of these groups the practice will be in touch with you shortly, either by text or phone, inviting you to book your appointment.
