Three members of the team at Frome Medical Practice have been shortlisted for awards in the South West Practice Nursing Celebration and Awards, which take place on 27th April.

Jo Trickett been shortlisted for the General Practice Nurse Leadership Award, following outstanding feedback from the practice and the Clinical Commissioning Group for her work as our Primary Care Network nurse lead. This included an excellent project on learning disabilities and her help to support other Primary Care Network nurses in Mendip through mentoring. Jo has a leading role within the Complex Care Team at the Practice, which supports patients with complex needs, or those who may recently have been discharged from hospital, or those undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy treatment.

Jude Tallin and Donna Perry both work in the scheduling team at the practice and have been shortlisted for the 'Unsung Hero' award for the incredible support they have given the Health Care Assistant and Nursing teams in what has been a difficult year. Jude and Donna's roles include scheduling appointments to support patient care. They have had to overcome numerous challenges on a daily basis, as staff have been off with sickness or due to isolating, meaning schedules have needed constant updating.

Karen Creffield, Practice Manager, said, "We are really pleased that three of the team have made the shortlist for the awards this year. It's been another exceptionally challenging year for everyone and news like this lifts the whole team. Teamwork is critical for us, and it's a shame we can't nominate everyone, but we are thrilled to see Jo, Jude and Donna getting this recognition."

The awards are organised by the South West Regional NHS England and NHS Improvement teams and will take place online at the end of the month. They are an opportunity to showcase exciting new projects, as well as an opportunity to recognise nursing excellence.
