Michael Maggs, Chair of Trustees at Frome Museum, is delighted announce that Museum Development South West has awarded the museum a grant of £4,500 to help tackle social exclusion in Frome.

The funds will be used to help the museum gain a better understanding of its visitors, as well as those who do not currently visit, and to work towards becoming a more inclusive and open organisation that reaches out to new audiences.

The museum will work with specialist consultants to produce a report that will help improve physical and other access to the premises and the collections, and to conduct research among existing and potential audiences.

Michael Maggs says: "We believe that museums are for everyone. We welcome this opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills that will help us attract and engage with a more diverse range of visitors in the future."

Frome Museum is open between 10.00am and 2.00pm Tuesdays to Saturdays and on Frome Independent Market Sundays. Admission is free.
