In line with many other regions, it appears Frome is out of PCR tests.

Last week there was still PCR testing capacity at the North Parade site.

But today (December 29) all the regions across the UK were reporting that there are no tests available. This is the second time this month this has happened - nationally PCR tests were not available on December 14. PCR tests are required for people who have Covid symptoms or who have tested positive on a lateral flow test. A statement on the booking website read: "If you cannot get a test now, try again later. You will not be able to get a test through the helplines." However Frome residents say that even via the helpline they have not managed to get a test. There is also a reported shortage of Lateral Flow Tests. The Government has advised people to take the more rapid tests before they socialise after confirming on Monday that no new Covid restrictions would be brought in for New Year's Eve. But the Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies says people are being turned away every five minutes due to 'patchy' supply.
