Vallis Parents Run 1200 km For Children To Play

Parents of Vallis First School have each been running 100 km over the month of October to raise money for outdoor play equipment. The 12 parents who signed up for 'Runtober' to raise money for the school, have collectively run over 1200 km already even before the month is over and have raised over £1600.

Holly Lawton, Team Vallis member said: "We have lots of parents who are runners and we all came together to give something back to the school. Some of us are running half marathons, some have got back into running and some have only just started out. It's been really great to be part of a team, where we've all been encouraging each other to push for the 100 km. I myself only just got back into running and have managed to go from running 3 km to 11 km over the month, it's been a fantastic experience.

"The support we've received from the school and other parents has been amazing. We've had a few changes in outdoor spaces at the school recently, with the wonderful new Reception playground being built by volunteers over the summer, every little bit helps to improve the school for our children. It's what Vallis is all about. We have a real community here, where we come together to support each other and the school.

We still have a few days left of running and fundraising, so please donate if you can!"
