It is quiet on the planning front locally.

The long-awaited, much postponed and much argued over plans for the development of the centre of Frome will be discussed at the Mendip Planning Board on January 28.

The development (under application 2019/1180/OTS) has been fought over and disputed for years - but without a full agenda for that meeting (as of January 13) it is not clear what, if anything, will be resolved at the meeting which will be held virtually at 6pm.

The current application is for outline planning permission for a mixed use development for residential dwellings, with so-called live/work accommodation, residential care accommodation (C2) and mixed workspace/retail/cafe/restaurant/bar/public/house/community/cultural/leisure uses (B1, A1, A3, A4, D1, D2).

In other planning news in and around Frome:

In Buckland Dinham an application is in to replace all the windows at

3 Court Farm (postcode BA11 2QS) that's under ref. No: 2020/2550/LBC.

The medical practice at Coleford has applied to build a single storey extension. The Mendip Country Practice on Church Street in Coleford has details of the application under ref. No: 2020/2641/FUL

Meantime in case you missed it: South Somerset District Council has cancelled all its planning meetings for two months so its staff can help with the roll-out of the coronavirus vaccine. So all decisions will be made meantime by planning officials working under the delegation of the council's chief executive.
