The old Methodist Church on Portway in Frome now has a board outside selling it for 'development',

The church was closed after 111 years last September with a final service.

It is up for sale through the agents Perry Bishop, which has branches across much of the South West, but not actually in Frome, but it does have a branch in London.

The site is being sold by informal tender, priced in the region of £200,000 with offers must be made in writing no later than Wednesday 27th April 2022. Viewings are on two days next month.

One of the congregation was kind enough to send Nub News photos of the interior of the building during that final service. The event, open to all, saw the pews full for the very last time, with visitors who had got married at the church or had their children christened there. The service was led at the time by Rev Tina Swire, Superintendent of Somerset Mendip Methodist Circuit.
