Frome Property News : Theobald Arms now up for sale

By Susie Watkins 8th Apr 2022

The Theobald Arms - on the outskirts of Frome and with planning permission to convert into a home - is unexpectedly up for sale.

The pub, on the edge of Nunney, closed in 2002 and is being sold by the agents as : " An Exciting renovation project".

It was previously sold for £255,000 and is now priced with a guide listing of £300,000.

The Theobald Arms is a former Grade II listed Inn, with origins dating back to the C17, refronted in the C19 and now has planning permission in place to make a large home.

The agents say that the plans, requiring what they call total renovation, would give you three receptions, a large kitchen, a utility and a cloakroom all on the ground floor and at least three bedrooms on the first floor, with a further two possible. There is also a cellar.

But you do need to know that the land behind the former pub is also up for sale with planning permission passed for two detached two storey three-bedroomed homes which would be your near neighbours. The adjoining barns are also up for sale separately with plans that they too can be converted into a home.
