Frome refill shop already wants to expand

By Susie Watkins 28th Jan 2020

A trio of friends had a vision of Frome without waste and they are making that a reality in the centre of the town, in the former antique shop.

Sophie Mullins and Cat and Olli Smith, felt strongly it was time for Frome to have a package-free, refillable store.

Denude opened just three months ago after five weeks of refurbishment at the site at 4 Bath Street.

Now shoppers can bring their own containers to fill up with spices, cleaning products, soaps and dried goods.

They are completely independent of any big chain or investors, and hope that they can create a more forward thinking Frome.

Sophie said: " We want to work and collaborate with local people for the benefit of the community."

They even make their own peanut butter and three types of plant milk, in the store itself.

The business is doing well and was especially successful during two Independent Markets for which they were open. They currently stock pots and bottles for customers to buy to fill up with, however they wish to get to the stage where people solely bring their own to fill up.
