Thornbury RFC v Frome RFC
Report by Trevor Osborne
Frome travelled to Thornbury on Saturday, looking to follow up on the previous week's win and started strongly straight from the kick off.
Frome gathered the ball and after several phases Flanker Sam Bartlett broke through the centre of a ruck to make 20 metres before beating brought to a halt, a few phases later and close to the line Flanker Bailey Brook was able to pick and fight his way over for the first score of the day. Centre Dom Jones adding the conversion.
However the home side capitalised on a multiple missed tackles to release their Winger who was able to score in the corner.
Two more quick tries gave Thornbury a 17-7 lead but an indiscretion at the break down gave Jones the opportunity to reduce the deficit with a penalty which went over.
The homeside continued to threaten from all across the field, and two more quick scores saw the home side increase the score to 27-10.
However with time running out on the first half a catch and drive from a line out set up the opportunity for Bartlett to score a converted try to leave the half time score at 27-17 and Frome believing they were still on the game.

The first 15 minutes of the second half became a game of attrition as both sides looked to gain a foothold in the game.
With Frome on the attack and looking to close the gap on the scoreboard, Centre Jones looked to make a break in the opposition 22, but went down with a head injury and the game was immediately stopped.
With the seriousness of the injury the match was moved to an adjoining pitch and the home side looked to cope with the change better and scored three unanswered tries to move further ahead, despite a 60 metre run by Centre Ali Frost who was stopped just short of the line.
Frome had one last chance to score when they had a scrum in the home sides 22 the ball was shifted quickly from the scrum by Garrie Webster to John Spencer who released Full Back Bailey Rusz to score in the corner.
