Mendip Markets has confirmed that the Frome Market will be allowed to operate under the current lockdown guidelines - with stalls offering food - this coming Saturday.

Stallholder Katy's Kitchen had lobbied hard for the market to open, when it was not clear which businesses could and would be allowed to continue.

Today she posted: " I am DELIGHTED to let you all know that not only will the Frome Market be going ahead during lockdown for essential services, I will be there too."

There will be even further additional safeguards in place around the market hosted at the Cheese & Grain carpark and Mendip Council still has to confirm all of the stalls who will be allowed to take part.

But Katy's Kitchen will definitely be there from 8.30am on November 7.
