Frome's Number One music store is taking plastic off the play list - with the final bags from its store playing out to music lovers.

Raves From The Grave has already finished up any existing stores of plastic bags for LPs and now it has just a few smaller ones left for CDs. After that - no more.

The company, which stocks one of the largest selections of DVDs, CDs and vinyl in the South West, is then planning to donate a portion of sales of its distinctive tote bags to environmental causes.

The shop, on King Street Frome posted : " We're fully aware the world of CDs and vinyl is very plastic heavy, in order to try and counter this, we're phasing out plastic bags.

" We've probably sold over 1000 totes in the past three years, partly due to people liking them and a lot of it due to people not bringing or forgetting them.

" We have no idea how many plastic bags we gave out over the years, but waaaay too many."

Raves now has no LP sized bags left, and only a few CD sized remaining – once they're gone, that'll be it.

They did look into paper bag alternatives and told Nub News there's not much available that would suit LPs and they say they still often get thrown in a bin after one use, so it is Tote- the way to go.
