Frome Street Carnival fundraiser and fun day : What a super afternoon, there was even a resident Samurai

Even the skies held for the revival of a special event in Victoria Park - part fundraiser, part fun day and one hundred per cent a return to the joys of a typical town fete.

The aim of the day was to raise much needed funds for local carnivals, including the Frome Street Carnival which will be back on the penultimate Saturday of September in 2022.

But with coronavirus stopping lots of events it was a chance to fill up the fundraising buckets for many organisations including the Shepton Mallet carnival group, whose raffle was so successful they had to replenish the prizes twice over.

But the afternoon was so much more - with food, fun, stone masons from Bath College, skittles and super heroes, plants from the secret gardens of Radstock - and of course, a dog show.

The first family fundraising day in over 18 months was a huge success, with record crowds, hopefully record takings - and even the rain stayed away.
