Frome College have today sent out a warning to all parents and carers about an incident involved a teenage girl being approached by a man in the centre of town.

The College took the unusual step of sending out a letter to everyone who has a pupil at the school.

They explained that they had been alerted by Kingdown School in Warminster that a Year 8 girl was approached on her walk to the Frome town centre bus stop; the male in question followed her from Welshmill Park, along the footpath past the Cheese & Grain, continuously trying to interact with her. It is not clear when the incident occurred.

The police have been informed. The description of the man is a white male in his mid-thirties with a shaven head. He was wearing running gear.

The College posted : " Can you please tell your child/children to be extra vigilant and report concerns to you and the school. If they see this male when walking or waiting for the bus, we suggest they approach the nearest parent with children or enter a shop and explain their concerns. "
