There are already 13 objections in to a planning application to build two homes in Keyford in Frome, an application which will be discussed at the Town Council meeting (December 14).

Councillors will be looking at all the local planning applications, including this one: 2023/2184/FUL | Erection of two dwellings (use class C3) and associated works. | Land At 378130 147577 Locks Hill Frome.

Thirteen people have already objected to the application including the local Frome councillor, who said that while initially it looked like a good idea to create two much-needed homes on a brownfield site, she later reconsidered.

Cllr Helen Kay wrote on the planning portal: " On the face of it this application seems like a good idea, providing 2 new homes on an infill brownfield site. However after visiting the site and talking to a neighbour I have established that: Numbers 10 and 12 Locks Hill are bungalows in the private rented sector, at least one with an elderly resident... the area is built up enough already and the newer houses in Portway and Newland Gardens already destroyed an orchard so personally I would prefer the land to be allotments, or an orchard or a small green wild space. "

Town Councillors will be looking at this application and others at their meeting at the Town Hall which begins at 6.30.
