The Frome Town footballers are gearing up for a hugely important match this coming weekend.

They are off to Bath for a Third Qualifying Round of the

Emirates FA Cup.

The last time they got this far was back in 2017 when they were defeated 2-1 away by Heybridge Swifts.

This Saturday, the footballing adventure continues with what the club is calling a mouth-watering home tie against Somerset neighbours Bath City - others have called it The Battle of Avon.

It promises to be a gem of a match and the coach laid on by the team to take fans to Twerton Park at 3pm is already all sold out.

In a tongue in cheek posting on social media, there is a reference to re-igniting the war between Bath and Frome which ended some years ago when a bunch of stay-at-home hipster Bath dads waltzed in to Frome and caused £50 of damage by kicking over some decoupage bins !

The team are feeling pretty upbeat, and will be cheered by their win against Oxford City last round, the first win since 2008 beating a team from a higher league (Cinderford away 1-0) and only their third ever win over a Conference/National League side.

Frome Town FC is currently fifth in the table, six points behind leader AFC Totton.
