Frome's best kept secret - Now open on Saturdays for festive hauls

It has been described as Frome's best kept secret.

A family run business, which has been going for decades, has diversified and opened up a discount warehouse open to the public.

Catley Chilled Food vans are a familiar sight in and around Frome, but for the last few months they have been opening up their warehouse on the outskirts of Frome - no membership - no hidden fees selling stock directly to the public. They have been wholesalers of chilled, frozen and ambient foods across the U.K for several generations.

As owner Troy Catley told Nub News they are also opening up on the next few Saturdays leading up to Christmas. " We have thousands of customers still supporting us so that is why we are open."

The company has been operating for over 40 years but only opened as a warehouse to the public, twice a week for the past 18 months, spurred on to throw open the doors at Commerce Park when many of their regular markets were closed due to the pandemic.

The stock cases, over runs, short dated food, misshapes a lot of catering stuff that is then cancelled ( big bags of frozen prawns for instance) from cases of drink to cheeses, hams and gateaux. All at discount prices.

Every Wednesday they post on social media a look-see on what they have in the warehouse.

They take cash or cards, and for that you can pretty much guarantee a bargain.
