Coming to a dance floor in Frome - time to get soulful and you could not be in better hands.

The DJs, Dave Smith, Jorge Lewis and Steve Riley are lifelong soul fans, avid collectors of rare soul vinyl and survivors of The 100 Club, Wigan Casino, The Torch, The Twisted Wheel and other legendary soul venues. Under the banner Hip City Classic Soul they have put on events in and around Somerset, including Bruton's Got Soul at Bruton Unionist Club, and Rhythm & Soul at The Bear in Wincanton.

They have DJ-d at various other soul nights, including Glastonbury Soul, Bath Soul and Soul Shoes in Bishopstoke, Hampshire.

Hip City Classic Soul is a moveable feast, and interest from people in the town, expressed on social media, has encouraged this first try-out in Frome. If it is a success, there will be more.

Hip City Classic Soul is coming to Frome, playing a superb selection of classic soul sounds: Northern Soul, Classic 1960s and 70s Soul, Tamla Motown and RnB, all on authentic vinyl 45s.
