The hugely popular pet shop in central Frome has renewed its appeal for a new member of staff.

Not Just Pets in the centre of Frome is offering a flexible job, with increased rates of pay to join a friendly team, but they are still coming up short.

It is a sign perhaps of the fact that

UK job vacancies are at a record high of 1.24 million between October and December, according to new data January 18. The figures are the first to exclude the impact of the government's furlough scheme which ended on 31 September. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said that job vacancies were 462,000 higher compared to the three months before the pandemic. Regular pay, excluding bonuses, grew at an annual rate of 3.8% between September and November, the ONS said. The record number of vacancies has led to a new phenomenon job seekers "ghosting" them. Job candidates just don't show up for their scheduled interviews or they sometimes accept the job only to disappear. One post on social media has welcomed the new trend saying it has been karms. They wrote: " Honestly I LOVE seeing potential employees treating employers the way employers have been treating their candidates for years! And then seeing the employers get all upset about it like they haven't been behaving exactly the same way. … I really really hope that employers learn a lesson from this and start respecting job seekers a little more (although I'm not optimistic). " The job at the pet shop is for someone to join the team in a flexible role. Part time hours, to be confirmed, person needs to be flexible.
