- Last year, delays of more than two hours were reported on the A37 southbound from Bristol and more than 30 minutes on the A39 from Bridgwater as early as 7am.
Best times to arrive and leave
- Best arrival times: Very early morning or later in the evening.
- Best times to leave: Between 1am and 7am on Monday, June 30, to beat the worst traffic.
- Alternative departure routes: A37 towards A303 via Podimore and A361 towards A350 via Frome and Swindon.
RAC breakdown warning for festival‑goers
The RAC has warned that long queues caused many breakdowns at last year's festival, including:
- Clutch failures caused by resting a foot on the pedal for long periods.
- Brakes and oil levels pushed to their limits.
- EVs running out of charge due to delays.
RAC technician Tristan Kirk said:
"There's nothing worse than a traffic jam when you're already late. Make sure your oil and coolant levels are where they need to be, and your tyres are in good condition. EV drivers should charge fully before the trip and plan for long delays."
