Frome charity, Purple Elephant, is looking for runners, and would-be runners, experienced or complete beginners, to join 'The Bath Half' and raise money for its year-round child and family services.

The Purple Elephant team is offering paid-for places, running (or walking if you prefer) to raise money on Sunday 16 March 2025.

Having raised almost £2,500 in the previous half-marathon, the charity aims to beat that total in 2025 and are calling out to Frome and Somerset area to sign up and join them NOW by applying for one of 10 already-paid for places.

A Purple Elephant spokesperson explained: " Our previous teams have included parents of young children, a police officer, school teachers, an actor, a Frome business owner, a leprechaun and, of course, an elephant!

"The funds go to our year-round services and work, all focused on local families facing disadvantage.

"These services include early-years support, Befriending, Holiday Activities for families with additional needs and a Toy Library lending service. We will soon be opening a new Youth Club in Frome too and of course many people know us for our huge, free Frome Children's Festival.

"Purple Elephant relies on local support, so please sign up now for the Bath Half in March."

To join the team on 16 March 2025 and be the proud wearer of a Purple Elephant t-shirt, runners (at any level) can opt for a paid-for place; anyone already self-enrolled can also still run for Purple Elephant benefitting from the same support, and be a welcomed part of the whole team.
