Frome's Deputy Mayor believes in doing things a little differently - and so today - his 28th birthday he has asked for lots of presents.

But none of them for him.

Andy Wrintmore is asking for donations to Fair Frome.

Thanking people for their birthday wishes - although he may not be thrilled to be 28 - he posted that he has chosen to ask for donations because he so admires their work.

He said: " "Fair Frome is a local organisation that provides a food and furniture bank service to the people of Frome. During this Covid-19 period Fair Frome have also been delivering food parcels safely to the vulnerable that need them. I'm a big admirer of Fair Frome and all they manage to achieve locally, they are an incredible asset to the town and it's residents who receive assistance without discrimination. No obligation to donate of course but the minimum of £4 can make a surprising difference. "

Andy, who is well known about town and works in the Westway shopping centre, has a strong sense of civic duty; saying previously that Frome has always been supportive of him as a person, and so he felt that he wanted to give back to the town.

He drums in a band and is also a local DJ, in addition to being Deputy Mayor.
