If we go how will you go ? The Frome ticket office is a brilliant service
If we go how will you go ? The Frome ticket office is a brilliant service

Frome station's ticket office will be open again today and is every working day from 5.30 until midday, helping those who cannot easily use the machines, or like Nub News, didn't know all the services that they can offer.*

Not to mention what might happen to the waiting room and the toilets at the station.

If you use the ticket office and welcome the friendly face at the window, the team are now running a petition to send to the rail companies to get them to reconsider the proposal to close almost all the ticket offices at stations across the UK, including this one in Frome.

So please pop in and sign it.

Or you can still give your views on the Rail Delivery Group proposal too, with the deadline now extended until September 1. HERE Hundreds of thousands of passengers have already taken part in the consultation.

The plan announced in early July sparked concern from rail unions over job cuts and disability groups over accessibility issues, particularly from the Royal National Institute for the Blind who say that their research showed that :

  • Only 3 per cent of blind and partially sighted respondents said they could use a ticket vending machine without problems.
  • 76 per cent said they would prefer to buy tickets from a person at a ticket office.

*Did you know if you need to get to Bristol airport you can buy one ticket, for the train into Bristol from Frome and then the bus out of the city in one combined fare? Thanks to the helpful Anna at the ticket office, Frome Nub News is now sorted.
