On May 14, Avanti Park School in Frome held its first Focus Day of the school year, focussing on an Avanti Schools Trust-wide initiative to support the crisis in India: Help India Breathe. Parents and staff were invited to donate to the AST's fundraising initiative for India, with donations from across the Trust currently standing at over £13,000.

Pupils learned about India, alongside focus on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, as part of our work to support each student to become an active world citizen now and in the future.

Each year group came into school wearing an allocated colour and at the end of the day we joined together as a school community to make a rainbow of joy and hope in the world.

The sun shone, the children were cheerful and enthusiastic and as Principal, Abby Atkins, summed it up: 'What a fantastic way to finish the week!'
