Frome Town Council, the Litter Warriors, members of Frome Rotary and Frome Hoedown are hosting a litter pick in Frome town centre on Thursday 21st March from 10am to 12pm, as part of the 2024 Great British Spring Clean, the UK's biggest mass action environmental campaign against litter on our streets.

The annual Great British Spring Clean is back for its ninth year between 15th and 31st March and encourages individuals and organisations to come together and spruce up their local area.

Staff and councillors from Frome Town Council, alongside the Litter Warriors, members of Rotary and Frome Hoedown will be meeting at the Boyle Cross on Thursday 21st March from 10am to 12pm for a litter pick and general tidy up of the town centre. The team are looking for volunteers to help them on their pick, aiming to make as much impact as possible on the town's cleanliness.

Cllr Mark Dorrington said: "The weather is getting warmer, which means more people are out and about in town, so what better reason than to join a brilliant national campaign and help to clean up our streets? Not only will it help us appreciate what Frome has to offer, but it will also give a warm welcome and make a lasting impression to visitors to our town. Please do consider offering a helping hand to spruce up Frome's town centre – every action will have an impact."

Litter picking is a simple action that makes an immediate and visible difference – 85% of those who took part in last year's Great British Spring Clean reported feeling more pride in their local area. And 74% said it improved their mood too!

If you want to join in the spring clean, pop down to the Boyle Cross on Thursday 21st March at 10am. Equipment and hot drinks will be provided, just bring willing hands and sturdy shoes. Please register in advance if possible at https://bit.ly/spring-clean-21st-march.
