Purple Elephant Family Support charity, providers of free holiday activities to 130 families, bespoke one-to-one adult-to-child Befriending service, founders of brand new Youth Club at The Key Centre and, of course, host to over 3,000 people at the Frome Children's Festival, is now asking local people and local businesses to support them, in kind, with their first big fundraiser event of 2025.

On 15 February, The Warminster Military Wives choir will sing at the Silk Mill, in aid of Purple Elephant, and the charity needs your talent and generosity to help them with some items and atmosphere on the big night!

Local companies are being asked to donate high quality prize gifts and memorable experiences to their raffle, which will be drawn on the night. 

And, in order to give the evening, which will feature local musicians, as well as the main-feature of the Military Choir, an extra-special atmosphere, the organising team are looking for the following items to dress the venue:

• long strings and garlands of warm white lights
• white netting and gauze for delicate decoration
• LED candles and table decorations
• floor lighting or lamps suitable for venue-use

Purple Elephant's fundraiser said: "We are delighted that local party supply company, A Day To Remember X, has already offered us 80 beautiful chair covers and bows and we would also welcome any budding young event-photographers who might like to practice their photojournalistic skills on the day too.

"Oh, and, of course, we invite the people of the whole town to join us for a great night out too!"

Purple Elephant is a small charity but a force to be reckoned with: 87% of its service-users come from areas of high deprivation and 41% have additional needs or disabilities.

The charity's focus is on having fun together, as a family, but it relies of events - such as the Military Wives Choir event and local business sponsors - to join them in giving support to local families and children facing any kind of disadvantage.
