With more people buying electric cars, the question of where to charge them in public places is becoming a high priority for many drivers.

According to the National Charge Point Registry UK, there is currently one public place to charge your electric vehicle in Frome, and that is the Commerce Park Service Station.

There are three types of electric vehicle charging connector types there - CHAdeMo at 50kW, Type 2 Combo at 50kW and Type 2 Mennekes at 43kW.

The government is currently in a consultation period for proposals to alter existing residential and non-residential buildings regulations to include electric vehicle infrastructure requirements.

It is proposing to alter building regulations for new residential buildings to include requirements for electric vehicle chargepoints and for non-residential buildings to include requirements for electric vehicle chargepoint infrastructure.

Also the government wants to introduce a requirement for existing non-residential buildings to have electric vehicle chargepoints.
