Road closure warning of overnight work on Fosse Road.

Highways will be carrying out urgent repairs and patching work on the A37 Fosse Road, near Shepton Mallet, for one night on Friday 10 March.

The full road closure will begin at 6.30pm and is expected to be lifted by 7.30am the following morning.

The council advises motorists to plan their journeys in advance and to allow extra time for travel during that time.

Councillor Mike Rigby, Somerset County Council's Lead Member for Transport and Digital, said: "We understand that roadworks can be inconvenient for motorists, but we want to assure everyone that this work is necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of A37 Fosse Road. We have carefully planned this work to minimise disruption with work taking place overnight.

"Please do check the details on the diversion and plan ahead if you use this route regularly." Details of approved roadworks can be found here www.travelsomerset.co.uk/roadworks.
