Hot desking : How new charity giveaway has already helped Frome's Active and In Touch
By Susie Watkins 15th Sep 2021
It really has been a case of the local community pulling together and thanks to donations from a local company, delivered by a Frome community champion, this Frome charity now has two new desks.
Frome's Active and In Touch needed the desks as it moved into new offices in the Town Hall.
Thanks to a totally new initiative involving a local home decor company, already committed to doing what it can to keep furniture out of landfill, they got their wish and in double quick time.
Pure Interiors sells designer furniture and items at a heavy discount to save them from landfill, buying in bulk from housing companies and bigger companies, but it often has items left in its inventory.
So now it has appointed a Head of Giving and Frome FM stalwart Jeremey Westcott, who puts the needs with the needy in and around Frome and the desks were the first success.
He told Nub News : " My voluntary role is to find people who need stuff, who can use things from Pure from their donations and this was a perfect fit. "

Jeremy continued : " Pure look at their stock and every three months they put aside those items to donate and so that too goes off to a good home. What charities need to do is simply tell us what they want.
