The HSBC bank, which has a branch in the heart of Frome, is planning on closing 82 branches between April and September this year, they have announced.

But the list does NOT include Frome.

It will leave HSBC, which has vowed not to make any staff redundant and hopes employ existing staff into remaining branches, with 511 branches across the UK.

The nearest HSBC branches to Frome that will be closing are Clevedon, at The Triangle, which is due to close in August and the branch in Nailsea, which is reported to be closing in June.
