Not unexpected, but the application for hundreds of homes on the edge of Frome close to Sainsbury's has been given the formal green light.

Late last week (March 4) the application for outline planning application for the 235 houses on land North and South of Sandys Hill Lane, in Frome, was approved with conditions.

It was opposed by, among others, the Frome Chamber of Commerce.

Work will include the demolition of existing farm buildings to build the houses , work space of up to 4,050sqm, a drive through restaurant , a food retail building of approximately 1,800sqm and a non-food retail unit of approximately 1,400sqm.

The application is under reference 2019/1671/OTS on the Mendip Planning portal if you want to know more.
