IN case you missed it the cafe inside the Frome Sainsbury's store closed on April 22.

It was part of a company-wide policy that saw 200 stores closing in April across the chain.

Sainsbury's said it will be adopting a new format for dining at stores as part of restructuring plans to keep costs down. It will mean brands such as Starbucks and Gourmet Burger Kitchen move into some locations. The supermarket said it hoped that around 2,000 workers in the stores, will be moved into roles.

But across the road in Wessex Fields retail park the new second Greggs store is almost ready and is already on the sign.

Frome Nub News asked Greggs when they are opening. In a perhaps less than helpful statement a Greggs spokesperson said: "We can confirm we're looking to open a shop in Frome very soon and will be sure to share information in due course."
