IN PICTURES : Frome wakes to snow

It was a rare wake up to some pretty impressive snow today (January 24) in Frome.

There were some early morning difficulties for motorists who struggled to get up Bath Street, with at least one driver involved in a crash, and other cars needing four-wheel driving friends to get them up.

Around ten am Somerset Highways reported that there were still some stranded vehicles on the A361, due to snow from B3092 to B3090 Marston Road (Marston roundabout).

But for many children in Frome (and some big children) it was a chance to enjoy the wonder of white stuff.

And Frome Nub News even spotted on intrepid snowboarder out and about.

Perhaps not deep enough for that... but plenty for some super snowmen, terrific tobogganing and the delightful squeaky sound of just tramping through the snow.

The last big fall of snow in the town was in February 2018.
