The wind operation on the road to Wells

Eco campaigners have celebrated news that yesterday (November 2) wind power generated 51.0% of GB electricity, more than gas 20.9%, nuclear 15.9%, imports 5.6%, hydro 2.4%, biomass 2.2%, solar 1.8%, coal 0.1%, other 0.0% *excl. non-renewable distributed generation.

The high winds were certainly in evidence at the wind turbine on the road down into Wells from Frome.

The National Grid reported that for the first time in UK history, wind turbines produced over 20GW of electricity!!!

They posted on Twitter : " We're waiting on further data to confirm the final figure but it's clear we have a new record."
