King Street in Frome will be closed from Monday to Friday next week for roadworks to be carried out that are aimed at preventing flooding.

The road will be closed from traffic from August 19 to 23 for 24 hours a day so Somerset Highways can carry out drainage works, specifically to install a new gully that, it is hoped, will stop future flooding.

The work itself is from the junction with the Market Place, along King Street for 50 metres.

A diversion will be in place, sending traffic along the B3090 Bath Street, the A362 and Vicarage Street.
