Cheese and Grain, the Frome venue which has hosted headline shows from global stars such as Foo Fighters, Fatboy Slim, Robert Plant, Wolf Alice and already boasts Emily Eavis and Cara Dillion as patrons, today announce renowned music broadcaster Jo Whiley as their newest patron.

The DJ and TV presenter first visited the venue back in 2017, watching the Foo Fighters play one of the most talked about shows of the year in the UK as they announced their headline performance at Glastonbury with a secret show at Cheese and Grain, viewed by millions online. Jo was so taken by the venue that she returned, with her smash-hit DJ show "90s Anthems" to Frome in 2021, selling out back to back nights, as part of her sold out UK tour.

Jo says of her appointment "The Cheese and Grain is a legendary venue with an unrivalled appetite and passion for live music and a beautiful place to enjoy bands. I'm supremely happy to be part of their gang."

Her fellow patrons are equally as excited about the appointment, with Emily Eavis saying that she is "thrilled to have Jo Whiley join as a patron" a sentiment echoed by Cara Dillon, "I'm over the moon Jo is joining us, she's a fantastic addition to this brilliant venue."

Nick Waterhouse, Chair of the Trustees of the Cheese and Grain, said: "We are honoured to welcome a true superstar with such incredible knowledge and passion for the UK music scene, and excited about the insight and assistance Jo will provide alongside our other dedicated patrons".

Cheese and Grain is one of the largest music venues in the West Country, attracting over 100,000 attendees to the venue each year. It operates a not-for-profit social enterprise registered as a charity and works to establish and promote musical culture, whilst providing an accessible & independently sustainable regional venue.

Alongside the announcement of Jo's appointment as a patron of the Cheese and Grain, the venue is delighted to be able to announce that Jo will be bringing back her "90s Anthems" DJ show to the venue. This event will open the 10 day long Frome Festival on Friday 1st July with tickets going on sale for the show, this coming Sunday 30th January.
