Usually at this time of year, we're making lists and organising our Christmas shopping. Thankfully during lockdown many of Frome's wonderful independent shops are offering online shopping, where you can shop in the comfort of your own home, the details can be found on the shopping directories over on Frome Town Council's Discover Frome website.

We're also usually visiting Christmas markets during the festive season to pick up gifts for loved ones. Unfortunately, this year, most of these markets have been cancelled, but all is not lost as we have decided to bring a virtual Christmas market to Frome!

We've created two spaces which allow makers and sellers to share their work and let you know how you can buy their wares. So, whether you're looking for the perfect present for a loved one, a secret Santa gift or just fancy treating yourself, there's sure to be something for everyone.

Discover Frome virtual Christmas market

We are hosting this space for all the creative makers based or living within the BA11 postcode area. From stunning handmade glass work, to gorgeous bespoke jewellery or a hand-crafted Christmas sack – why not support your local makers this Christmas, all the details can be found by clicking HERE : the Discover Frome site

If you're a small business in Frome making and selling your own products and would like to be featured please contact [email protected] with five images, a description of your business and relevant contact details.

Frome's Christmas market Facebook group

Head over to this new, seasonal Facebook group; it's a virtual selling market page for small businesses in the BA11 postcode area to showcase and sell their wares in the run up to Christmas. Each seller will have a virtual stall, with an album of pictures - all you simply need to do is browse the main feed and find some festive gift ideas. Need something for your nan? Stumped what to get a teacher? If you're stuck for ideas, as it's a Facebook page you can ask for recommendations and the stall holders will reply to your post with a selection of gifts. And to purchase the product you simply comment on the photo and the stall holder will be in touch.

If you would like a stall, please message us your details via the group and confirm your postcode. The Facebook group can be explored by clicking HERE: the lets get Christmas wrapped site

Mayor of Frome, Anita Collier, has started her Christmas shopping already and said: "Let's not let lockdown stop us supporting our local businesses and independent retailers, whatever you're looking for this Christmas we're ready to help you find it with these two virtual shopping experiences, why not go online and explore what goodies are on offer!".

Frome Town Council are working in partnership with Frome Chamber of Commerce.
