Lib Dems open as 1/4 favourites to take the upcoming by-election in Somerton & Frome - that's according to Ladbrokes.

Labour, who have accused the Frome MP of simply " clinging on for the last year and a quarter... just to serve himself " opened 14/1 and the Greens at 100/1.

The Conservative came in betting odds at 3/1. The date of the by-election following the resignation of David Warburton on Saturday night has not yet been set.

Today (June 19) he was on breakfast television saying he had been a victim. Warburton has been accused of sexual misconduct by three women, among other allegations along with taking a secret £100k from a discredited Russian businessman.

He has however admitted taking cocaine, a picture of which went into a national newspaper in April 2022 telling interviewers : "I was entrapped and secretly photographed".
