Purple Elephant, the Frome-based organisation behind the Toy Library, Small Steps early-years support, a Befriending service, pre-school age Stay-and-Play sessions, school Holiday Activities for referred children and, of course the annual Children's Festival is seeking those who share its vision to join as volunteers - whatever your level of experience.
The charity's year-round, adult-to-child Befriending service is currently in need of experienced volunteers with a professional background in support work. This role is best fulfilled by those who have previous experience with children in social care, education or similar and who can offer long-term commitment.

Requiring a hands-on, happy to muck-in attitude, the charity welcomes responsible, caring for its fun activity sessions. This is option is open to all mature, trustworthy, energetic adults aged 16+ who are able to provide suitable references (from school or similar).
In addition, the charity is urgently seeking a Treasurer to join its team of dedicated trustees. An experienced finance and planning mind is sought to work with the managers and trustees to deliver new exciting plans, having recently been awarded three-year £190k National Lottery funding,
Helen Fielden, trustee says, "This is a really exciting time to get involved in the work of Purple Elephant. We have some great stuff going on and lovely people to work with.
