He is sworn to secrecy of how it turned out, but Frome jewellery designer Daniel Musselwhite enjoyed every moment on a new reality show.

All That Glitters is a new show following the amazing skills of eight talented jewellers, including Frome-based Dan, who is seen in episode two creating a brooch using enamel - something he had never even attempted before.

Daniel, who moved to Frome three years ago, told Nub News, why he chose to go on the BBC2 programme, but he is not allowed to tell us who wins, or even how far he got.

He told us how he ended up on the programme: " Some of my old students got in touch, to say have you seen this ? You would be great. You have to go for it.

" So I thought perhaps it was time to put myself out there rather than just sitting in a little room making jewellery. And I was so pleased I did, I met some really lovely people and had an amazing time."

The designer, who is 41 and is known to friends as Dan, has been making jewellery since he was 16 and started as an apprentice.

He told Nub News that he did not go to art college but instead:

" I did some time working for a prestigious jewellery company, but that didn't really suit me so I took a year out. That saw me gardening and cleaning windows and then I came back to it. "

Dan joined stunning jewellery designer Jeremy Heber's studio in Bristol, working there for around five years, before Dan went out on his own. Dan now offers a stunning range of contemporary rings, earrings and necklaces, but he does not hesitate when Nub News asks him about the best thing about his job.

Dan said: " The best thing is doing commissions for people, making an engagement ring or a wedding ring, or a necklace for a fiftieth wedding anniversary. All those beautiful important moments, you are part of as a jeweller and you get to make these lovely things. It is so special."

You can check out some of his stunning contemporary designs by clicking HERE: the Daniel Musselwhite site and also learn about jewellery making courses which he runs.

And why does Dan like Frome? He tell us : " Frome is just a nice friendly artistic place. I came here for a visit and fell in love with it and I love the independent shops. It is so important that there is not just the same stuff as everywhere else, that you can make and buy special things which you will not get anywhere else. "

All That Glitters will be back on BBC2 on Tuesday evenings, with the next episode on April 27 at 8PM.
