Police put out official statement about evening incident in Frome saying enquiries continuing

Police have put out a statement on an incident earlier this evening (October 5) in Frome and say that their enquiries are continuing.

They confirmed that there were armed officers at the scene in Marston Lane and earlier a police helicopter was deployed.

But they declined to give any more details than to confirm the time and location of the incident.

The statement to Nub News is :

"We received a call at about 4.45pm this afternoon (Monday 5 October) about a man with a weapon at an address in Marston Lane in Frome.

"Armed officers were deployed but he had left the scene before their arrival.

"Efforts to locate the offender are ongoing and enquiries continue."
