Lovely photo of kingfisher spotted at Frome waterway close to Asda

It is lovely to see this wonderful bird, photographed at the ponds close to Asda.

Kingfishers are not in danger, but it is unusual for them to take up in a small waterway, such as the nature reserve in Frome which probably shows how much rain we have had in Frome recently.

And they are amber listed because of their unfavourable conservation status in Europe. They are also listed as a Schedule 1 species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act offering them additional protection.

They are also, as you can see, absolutely beautiful.
