Marie Curie appeal for Somerset volunteers

Marie Curie, the UK's leading end of life charity, is calling for people to come forward to help with volunteering for the charity across Somerset.

Marie Curie is keen to hear from people to help deliver a range of services they provide to people at Musgrove Park Hospital, with bereavement support over the phone and as part of an advanced care planning service.

The charity is also looking for people to help its fundraising and community engagement teams spread awareness of Marie Curie throughout Somerset and encourage donations.

Thanks to supporters and volunteers across the Southwest Marie Curie has been there for people over the past 75 years, and today its care and support is more needed than ever.

Marie Curie has a variety of services across Somerset including the Hospice Care at Home Service where Marie Curie Nurses and Health Care Assistants bring the nursing, medical and emotional help people need, in the comfort of people's own homes, whatever the illness. This service also provides support to the people closest to them, from reassurance and practical information, to letting them take a break.

If anyone is interested in becoming a volunteer for Marie Curie in Somerset, please contact [email protected] or call 0800 304 7400.

Marie Curie offers practical and emotional support on everything from symptom management and day to day care to financial information and bereavement. You can contact the Information and Support line on 0800 090 2309 or visit mariecurie.org.uk/support.
