Frome Town Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) held their first Cuppa with a Copper event at Coffee #1 on Wednesday 19th February,

While this is a new initiative in Frome Town, it has been running Force wide for some time. We want to be more accessible and approachable to our communities. We hope that members of the public will get used to seeing us in their local coffee shops and feel comfortable enough to come and talk to us, whether it just be to say hello, discuss any issues within their communities or to seek advice or information. If there is a matter they wish to discuss in private we can make those arrangements.

We will be holding Cuppa with a Copper events every four weeks at Coffee #1. The next one will be Wednesday 18th March, 4pm – 5.30pm. We are also trialing Cuppa with a Copper at Rye bakery, Whittox Lane on Tuesday 3rd March, 10 - 11am. We are looking at other venues in the Frome Town area so we can reach different members of our communities. If there are any café's/coffee shops who would like us to hold an event in their premises we would be more than happy for them to get in touch with us.

In addition to Cuppa with a Copper we also hold beat surgeries. We will be holding a beat surgery at Frome Medical Practice on Wednesday 4th March at 9am. This will be a recurring event on the first Wednesday of every month. We also hold beat surgeries at some of our local sheltered/supported housing complexes. Beat Surgeries are suited to specific communities who feel they would benefit from a regular police 'drop-in' session. Again, if local communities would like us to hold a regular beat surgery in their area we are more than happy for them to get in touch.
