Traditional church services in Frome have also been hit by rising coronavirus cases - and fears that events cannot go ahead.

Frome St John the Baptist parish church on Bath Street in the town has announced two key services on Christmas Eve are being cancelled.

The 3.00pm Crib Service and 11.30pm Midnight Mass will not be taking place this year. Organisers said it was "Unfortunately because of the current covid situation and other factors."

However at the present time the service on Christmas Day, Saturday 25th December - 9.45am Holy Communion is still scheduled to go ahead, as is the service on Sunday 26th December - St Stephen's Day -

the 9.45am Morning Service. The church has been at what it calls the heart of Frome since 1335.
