Military wives bring voices to town to raise funds for Frome charity

Purple Elephant Family Support is "delighted" the Warminster Military Wives Choir will be singing at the Frome Festival in a "celebratory evening" staged to "lift hearts high" as they raise funds for the charity.
Purple Elephant staff and trustees, who support some of the area's most vulnerable children and families, will be offering a friendly Frome welcome at The Assembly Rooms (Memorial Theatre) on Friday 4 July - the opening night of the Frome Festival.
The Military Wives Choirs, in the UK and internationally, comprise a community of around 2,000 women in 70 choirs; those performing for Frome have sung at the Invictus games, as an opener for Cliff Richard, at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with Gary Barlow and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber at the Royal Albert Hall for the Classical Brit Awards, so this promises to be an uplifting night of glorious voices!
As well as support entertainment from local musicians, the bar will be open and raffle tickets on sale to win prizes kindly donated by local companies.
"All proceeds raised will go to support families facing disadvantage and tackling some of life's toughest challenges," organisers said.
"The funds will also help to fulfil the organisation's additional aim to bring joy into the lives of local children and families."
